Dance Central VR Trailer

Dance Central VR was Published by Oculus. All marketing materials were made in-house.
I shot this announcement trailer with a 300 hundred dollar steadicam and a Canon 5D camera. The 'mixed reality studio' is our conference room with 3 walls painted green.
We wanted to show off all the game had to offer in under 90 seconds. Use of the phone as a game menu, meeting the characters, playing multiplayer, and using the “break it down mode” for learning the dances in small sections. We wanted to make sure that it not only looks like FUN, but that dancing with a VR headset on looks cool.
This was for the Oculus Quest, which had no “mixed reality” ability at the time. So that was a bit tricky to figure out.
The song used was not in the game at the time of shooting. I picked out several songs with a similar bpm for our actress. This allowed me to select from a wider variety of dance moves.
The wonderful Twyla Everett stars as the dancer
